Members of the Month - June 2008

CSUF
Mikel our treasurer along with Danny are always looking for ways on planning fun socials for our members as well as contacting them.

DeAnza
Wesley Borja and Dario Estrabao have contributed so much in the past months. They have only just joined and are already showing up to all the events and lending a helping hand. Without the help of these two fine gentlemen, De Anza’s Banquet would have been music-less.

East Bay
The member of the month is Paul Leung. He has been an example of a good member in our club, such going to projects with board members, attending banquets and DCMs, giving our members rides to our events, and much more.

ECC
Damien McDowell—Damien just simply stands out…literally. Recognizable by his ever present cowboy hat on his head, Damien has recently joined the club and has already made his mark. He has assumed the position of Spirit Chair and attends many of our service, social and divisional events. With every event he goes to, he brings his spirit, enthusiasm and of course…his signature cowboy hat.

PCC
In the month of June, there was one member that stood out from the rest of the members. She was not that active after DCON, but she has been relentless this month with going to An Evening with the Star Chef and Roots day. This member has really put the effort to help out the community. Kelly Hua has done a fantastic job this month and has earned outstanding member of the month.

SDSU
Our member of the month for the month of June is Tosan Ajemibayi. Even though it’s summer vacation, Tosan has kept it up and continued going to projects and events with us. We’re definitely grateful for him coming out and helping.

UC Berkeley
UC Berkeley students have been out on summer vacation throughout June, but that does not stop Junior Keiko Tanaka from serving with Circle K! Keiko grasped the opportunity to chair one of our fundraising projects, Vans Warped Tour, and coordinate our Key Clubbers and members for a very successful event. She never hesitates to fit Circle K into her schedule by attending Summer Service Planning Meetings, volunteering at Special Olympic Games and San Francisco Pride Celebration, and socializing at our trademark event, Life after Ramen cooking nights! Keiko has been a standout member for the month of June and we appreciate her enthusiasm!

UCLA
Luke Liao – This dude sure is no fluke. Without him, our Spring Quarter would not have been what it was! Luke has been a dedicated member since he joined back in Fall 2007, being one of the early members recognized as “Member of the Week.” Even though three quarters, nothing has stopped his passion for service. Luke was an avid participant in many of Spring’s large scale service events such as the “Metro Service Marathon,” where he was among many that stayed up all night doing service. He’s spent many of his evenings with our club at committee meetings, giving valuable input and ideas to make our club stronger. On top of that, Luke was recently appointed as Metro’s new Divisional Service Chair! It’s no surprise that UCLA Circle K would award him the title of “Member of the Quarter!”

UNLV
It is easy to forget that board members are also members of the club as well, but this month it was clear to see that one of our board members have not forgotten their roots. Displaying an immense dedication to service for the month of June, our MoM has racked up a whopping 23 hours of service assisting in the planning, overseeing, and packing up of quite a few of our service projects, along with building connections with our local Kiwanis and Key Clubs. A round of applause goes to our Vice-President of Administration, Justin Misa, for being this month’s Member of the Month.

UCD
Rochelle has been an outstanding member for June as she has came out to many of our projects. She was one of the few who helped with our two projects happening on the same day. She helped serve lunch at the Davis Community Meals and then went to help our fellow Sac State Circle K face paint and sell jewelry at their Pops in the Park project. She has helped out a lot and continues to sign up for our projects this summer.
